Here you’ll find a sort of TODO list that I will be keeping updated as I develop the game. This is more for me, but I thought some of you might enjoy watching my development progress from a feature standpoint.

 

NOTE: The list of stories here is going to be pretty nebulous and high level, and I anticipate having to add some more detailed stories as time goes on.


GLOBAL STORY LIST:

  • Basic level with background, above background, and foreground elements.
  • A basic player character that can maneuver about the level.
  • A camera that tracks the player.
  • Connecting two levels together.
  • Navigation betwixt two levels.
  • Player can enter a shooting stance.
  • Player can shoot his base weapon.
  • Baddies can attack and kill player.
  • When player is dead, game over.
  • Player can shoot and kill baddies.
  • Baddies can spawn and roam map.
  • Create medical environment.
  • Create corridor environment.
  • Create engineering environment.
  • Create core environment.
  • Create science lab environment.
  • Create living quarters environment.
  • Create shield generator environment.
  • Create tier-A baddy graphical content.

  • Text appears when player accesses certain terminals to deliver exposition or tutelage.
  • Text appears over player character’s head to broadcast his thoughts.
  • Replace player artwork.
  • Add map that reveals as you explore.
  • Add system for playing ambient “spooky” noises.
  • Add options menu for rebinding keys.
  • Add intro scene.
  • Add level picking scene.

Sprint One Goals

  • Basic level with background, above-background, and foreground layers.

  • Player can enter shooting stance.
  • Baddies intelligently spawn in and move about the map and levels.
  • Baddies can attack and kill the player.
  • Player can shoot and kill baddies.
  • Baddy content tier-A graphics.
  • Baddy content tier-A Animation.
  • Baddy content tier-A Sound.
  • Baddy content tier-B graphics.
  • Gun sound for player pistol.
  • Ambient noise and music.
  • Player walking sound.
  • Player dying sound.
  • Clean-up to make this a viable kind-of fun toy.
  • Website up.
  • Website content start.
  • Put in-progress alpha build onto website.
