Here you’ll findĀ a sort of TODO list that I will be keeping updated as I create the game. This is more for me, but I thought some of you might enjoy watching my development progress from a feature standpoint.

 

NOTE: The list of stories here is going to be pretty nebulous and high level, and I anticipate having to add some more detailed stories as time goes on.


GLOBAL STORY LIST:

  • Basic soldier unit can move and shoot.
  • Soldier AI can attack enemy flag.
  • Soldier AI can guard own flag.
  • Soldier AI can escort captain.
  • Soldier AI can attack enemy captain.
  • Captain AI can spawn soldiers.
  • CaptainAI can spawn flag carriers.
  • Player can spawn soldiers.
  • Player can spawn flag carriers.
  • Add a HUD where player can upgrade troops, spawn troops, see score, and flag health.
  • Player can win if enemy flag health is depleted.
  • Player can lose if own flag health is depleted.
  • Player can do something from win state (go to level select).
  • Basic main menu for launching the game.
  • Options menu from main menu.
  • From options menu, can change volume.
  • A basic level select screen with a map in the background and various levels to click on (20 levels).
  • Blue basic soldier unit.
  • Blue melee commando unit.
  • Blue vehicle unit.
  • Player can spend resource points to upgrade health of base units.
  • Player can spend resource points to upgrade flag carrier to generate income faster.
  • Grass level background and red soldier units to fight.
  • Grass level obstacles (boulders?) that are impassable.
  • Grass level red boss fight unit.
  • Grass level five levels.
  • Bamboo themed levels with ninja units to fight.
  • Ninja themed melee unit.
  • Bamboo level obstacles (Bamboo?) that are impassable.
  • Bamboo level samurai boss unit to fight.

  • Junkyard themed levels with brown military units to fight.
  • Junkyard themed melee unit.
  • Junkyard themed vehicle unit.
  • Juynkyard level obstacles (Scarpped cars?) that are impassable.

  • Robotic themed levels with silver robot units to fight.

  • Robotic level obstacles (terminals?) that are impassable.

  • A how-to scene, accessible from main menu, that shows how to play the game.

Web specific stories:


PC specific stories:

  • From options menu, can change screen resolution.
  • From options menu, can change key bindings.
  • Player’s progress is saved.

Phone and tablet specific stories:

  • Add a HUD at the bottom of the screen for touchscreen controls.
  • Player’s progress is saved.
